AI CleanWeb

Block ads in every app on your iPhone

Not just Safari. A DNS ad blocker that stops ads and trackers inside apps and games, sets up in one tap, and doesn't take your VPN slot.

Why a Safari ad blocker isn't enough

Apple only lets content blockers filter Safari. That's why the ads inside apps and games come through untouched with every ordinary iPhone ad blocker, and why searching for one that works in apps turns up so many disappointed people. The only way to block ads across all apps on iPhone is to stop the requests before they leave the phone, at the DNS level.

How AI CleanWeb blocks in-app ads without a VPN

AI CleanWeb installs as an encrypted DNS setting, not a VPN configuration. Every app on the phone resolves domain names through it, so a request to an ad or tracker domain simply never resolves, whether it comes from a game, a news app, a shopping app or Safari.

That distinction matters more than it sounds. iOS allows one VPN at a time, and most "ad blocker VPN" apps for iPhone take that slot to do their filtering. If you use a VPN for work, for privacy or for region switching, you can't have both. AI CleanWeb doesn't touch the VPN slot, so Mullvad, NordVPN, ProtonVPN or your company's VPN keeps working alongside it.

Does a VPN block ads?

Not by itself. A VPN hides your IP address and encrypts your traffic. It doesn't remove ads unless it bundles a DNS filter, and then it's the DNS filter doing the work, at the cost of the slot. If what you actually want is fewer ads and trackers, you want the filter, not the tunnel.

What it blocks, and what it doesn't

BlockedNot blocked
  • Ads inside apps and games served by ad networks
  • Trackers and analytics beacons in every app
  • Ads and trackers in Safari and every other browser
  • AI data-harvesting and telemetry domains (Premium)
  • Adult sites, if you turn that list on
  • YouTube in-app ads: served from the same domains as the video, so no DNS blocker can remove them without breaking playback
  • Ads an app serves from its own domain

Every DNS ad blocker has the same two limits. We'd rather you know before you install than find out after.

Set up once, then forget it

  1. Install AI CleanWeb from the App Store.
  2. Tap Turn On. iOS asks once to allow the DNS setting.
  3. That's it. It runs for every app, and keeps running after restarts.

The filter lists update on our side, not yours. New ad and tracker domains are added continuously, including the AI-crawler and data-harvesting domains that basic blocklists leave out, and nothing needs tweaking when a site changes. You'll see the difference in the numbers: the dashboard and the home-screen widget show a live count of everything blocked, so you always know it's working.

Free to start

The free tier blocks ads and trackers with the core lists, on iPhone and iPad. Premium adds the AI data-harvesting and extra privacy lists, with weekly, monthly and yearly plans inside the app. See what's in each plan.

Questions people ask before installing

Are there ad blockers for iPhone that work inside apps?

Yes, but only DNS-based ones. Safari content blockers can't see what other apps do. AI CleanWeb filters at the DNS level, so it covers every app.

Do iPhone ad blockers actually work?

Safari-only ones work in Safari. A DNS ad blocker works everywhere ads are loaded from an ad network, which is most apps and games. The live blocked count in the app is the proof.

How do I block all ads on my iPhone?

Install, tap Turn On, allow the DNS setting. Ads from ad networks stop in every app. The two exceptions are listed above.

Can I use an ad blocker and a VPN at the same time on iPhone?

With AI CleanWeb, yes. It uses the DNS setting, not the VPN slot, so your VPN keeps working.

Does it block ads in games?

Yes, when the game loads its ads from an ad network, which nearly all free games do. Some games stop showing ads entirely; some show a blank space where the ad was.

Does it block YouTube ads?

No, and neither does any other DNS blocker. See the table above.

Does it work on iPad?

Yes, the same app, the same way.

Also on your Mac and in your browser

The same filter runs system-wide on Mac, and as an extension for Safari, Chrome and Firefox with heuristics for cookie walls, anti-adblock walls and fingerprinting that a DNS filter can't reach. See every platform.
