Does Chrome block ads on its own?

Only a few. Chrome's built-in filter removes ads on sites that break the Better Ads Standards, such as pop-ups and auto-playing video ads with sound. Ordinary display ads, sponsored blocks and every tracker behind them still load. To block those, you need an ad blocker extension.

Why many ad blockers stopped working in Chrome

Chrome moved every extension to a new platform called Manifest V3 and switched off the old one, which is why some long-standing blockers, uBlock Origin among them, no longer run in Chrome. AI CleanWeb was built for Manifest V3 from the start. Questions people ask before installing

Does Chrome block ads?

Only ads on sites that break the Better Ads Standards. Most ads and all trackers still load, so you need an ad blocker extension to remove them.

Is there an ad blocker for Chrome that still works?

Yes. AI CleanWeb is built for Manifest V3, the extension platform Chrome now requires, so it keeps working where older blockers were switched off.

Is the AI CleanWeb Chrome extension safe?

No. Chrome for Android doesn't support extensions, so no Chrome ad blocker extension can run there.
